Plaintiff was operating his motorcycle proceeding straight. Defendant made a left hand turn directly into the path of the plaintiff. Plaintiff tried to avoid collision but was unsuccessful and died from blood trauma. The defense alleged that the decedent was negligent for traveling at an excessive rate of speed. Just prior to trial, the case was settled for 1.5 million.
